Bags of school supplies were given to about thirty needy students of the bilingual primary school “Les Majors de l’Avenir” in Odza, Yaoundé, this Saturday, May 31, 2025, the day they left for their vacation by AFIHA-CAMEROON.
Notebooks, pens, slates, and many other school supplies reassured more than 30 needy students of the bilingual primary school “Les Majors de l’Avenir” in Odza, Yaoundé, that they would be guaranteed a return to school in the 2025-2026 school year. The event was held in the presence of parents and other guests, some of whom came for the cause. The General Administrator and Founding President of the Association for Inclusion and Humanitarian Action (AFIHA-CAMEROON), in his opening remarks, promised to “fund the schooling of two of the school’s most disadvantaged students for the 2025-2026 school year.” This gesture only further aroused gratitude from those presents for the association, particularly from the parents, but also from the school’s founder, His Majesty Thomas Sonkouo, 3rd-grade chief of the Noh Noh village in the West Region of Cameroon. “I am very happy to receive this donation. You are the ones who simplify it. But in reality, it is a huge gift for us parents who do not have enough financial means to provide our children with all the school supplies their children need. This package is more of an encouragement, but above all, a big step in preparing for next year.” “I really don’t have enough words to thank the association and its organizers,” says Téclaire, the mother of a student in the senior French-speaking section who was promoted to the SIL.
AFIHA-CAMEROON, for its part, intends to increase this type of activity every year in various schools, as a way of contributing in its own way to the promotion of education in our national triangle.
